TVS Apache RTR 160
TVS Motors launched TVS Apache RTR 160 in 2007 as the entry level variant in the Apache Series. The ‘RTR’ stands for ‘Racing Throttle Response’ and the motorcycle is designed with a racing approach sporty bike.Even it is also the first bike which have the feature a petal disc brake.The 4-stroke single sylinder 159.7cc engine produces 15bhp at 8500rpm and max torque developed is around 13.03Nm at 6500rpm .It is build on double cradle SynchroSTIFF chassis, RTR 160 weighs 137kg. Telescopic oil damped forks up front and Monotype inverted gas filled 5 step adjustable shocks with rectanglar swing arm at rear handle suspension duties. Controlling and smooth riding power is provided by 270mm petal disc brakes in front and 130mm drum brakes at rear.
The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels in the front and rear with 90/90× 17 -Tubeless section tyres at the front and 110/80× 17 -Tubeless section tyres at the rear. The front forks is about a travel of 105mm and the rear have a two-shock approach rather than a monoshock.
The Apache RTR 160 is available in seven different paint schemes, some of which are matte schemes. The latest update comes ‘Race Edition’ which offers a fetching scarlet stripe over a white background.
The Apache RTR 160 rivals the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. There is also its own variant, the Apache RTR 160 4V. The Apache RTR 160 ABS is going to introduce very soon.
